Pumpkins...in a Church Parking Lot

I thought we were all prepared for Halloween this year. Cute costume -- check, Candy for the trick-or-treaters -- check. What else is there? Well, that would be pumpkins. Every mother in Plano has taken their kids to at least one pumpkin patch if not more this month. Feeling the guilt and the need for at least one pumpkin, the three of us piled in the car this morning for a pumpkin excursion. When I refer to the 3 of us, it's me, Ryan and his lovely nanny Emerit.

We found a pumpkin patch...well not really a patch but more of a parking lot. A church parking lot that is. Kind of takes away the whole Fall feeling but still we were able to swing a few good pictures from the outing and of course get a few pumpkins.

Mommy Is On A Jet Plane

As most of you know, my job at Showtime includes a good deal of traveling. I go to great lengths to only be away from home 1 night a week. If that means catching a flight at 6am and getting home at 11pm the following day -- it's all worth it!

I have to give kuddos to Bobby for holding down the fort while I am gone. When I am traveling (currently in Albany, NY), he sends me pictures of Ryan from his phone detailing everything they are doing so I don't miss a single thing. Makes my trips go by so much faster!

Here are a few pictures that he shared with me tonight. They are nothing special but to a home- sick mom they are priceless. . . .

Here We Go Yankees.... Here We Go!

When Bobby and I started dating, I found out very quickly about his passion for baseball . . . especially for the New York Yankees. Over the years, I have learned how important the playoffs are to Bobby. Bobby is over the moon now that he has Ryan to watch it with him. Ryan doesn't know what he's getting himself into - of course, I will warn him later!

Here are a few pictures of Bobby and Ryan last night watching the Yankees beat The Angels . Ah, like father like son!

ps. Thank you Uncle Brandon and Aunt Tara for the cute onesie!

Bobby thought it was only fitting for Ryan to wear his baseball footy-pajamas to bed last night. As you can see, Ryan was too distracted by the game to give mommy a smile. ARGHH, BOYS!

Our Little Lion. . . . ROAR!

My mother-in-law, Terry, graciously volunteered to make Ryan's Halloween costume this year. We both thought he would be an adorable Lion. As you can see, the costume turned out wonderful and it fits him perfectly!

Thank you Grandma Weilbacher!!

Last night, we went to a Halloween Event in Frisco. The kids get dressed up in their costumes and Trick -or- Treat near the Frisco Fire Station. There was a huge line of kids/parents to do the
Trick -or- Treating. It felt a little silly to stand in that line when Ryan can't say Trick -or- Treat (heck, he can't even talk!) nor can he enjoy the yummy candy. So, we opted for a few good photos with the Fire Truck instead. Good Times!

Sweet Dreams!

This week has been a memorable one when it comes to Ryan's sleep. On Monday night, he slept through the night without having to feed. It was glorious! However, we were back to our old ways on Tuesday and Wednesday waking up around 3AM to eat.

But, he decided to end the week with a bang and slept for 10 hours straight last night! There is hope that Bobby and I will not be zombies for long!

Here is a picture of him when I came into his room this morning. You can tell he is so proud of himself!

A Good Chuckle!

Ryan's personality has really come out over the last month. He gets a good chuckle over just about anything these days. Here is one that I caught tonight while giving him his bottle.

The State Fair of Texas

We ventured out to The State Fair of Texas this weekend. Bobby being from San Antonio still doesn't get my love for The Fair. I remember going with my parents and sister for years and I want to continue that tradition with my family.

Ryan took it all in stride. He's been going through a "stranger danger" phase. So, you can imagine what a large crowd does to him. He preferred being in mommy's arms the WHOLE time - why oh why did I not bring the baby carrier!

My favorite thing about The Fair is the yummy fried food - this year the highlight was fried butter. I mean, really? Fried Butter? Ryan was even getting into the spirit by trying his first corny dog!

Here are a few other pictures of us in front of the Midway and catching some much needed shade - it was hot out there!

Lastly, these two pictures summed up our day - I can't tell who had the better time?

Rain Rain Go Away!

Ryan is getting a little cabin fever with all this rain were getting. I have resorted to walking him in the evenings when it's a light drizzle...key word is light! Just in case it starts to rain on us and of course if there is a deer close by, Ryan will be all set with his hunting jacket on. Mom tries to prepare him for any type of situation!

You Want To See My New Trick?

Last night, we were watching television and Ryan busted out with this new trick. I ran to grab the camera with the hopes that he would perform on demand. I lucked out! Check it out!

More "amazing" tricks to come....

1-2-3 Say Cheese!

I remember not even 2 months ago, I was commenting to Bobby that "all I want is a smile from Ryan!" Two short months later, we have a baby who loves to smile at us. My favorite is when he wakes up in the morning and greets you with one of his gummy smiles! Here are a few of my favorites....

What's All The Commotion?

Ryan is at the age where he loves to "talk". It seems like he has so much to say in so little time. I had my first night away from Ryan this week due to work. When I came home, he smiled at me and then the talking started. It was like he was trying to catch me up on his eventful day ("Mom! Guess what I did today? I ate, poo'd, played and slept. It was all a blast!")

Here is a short video of our motor mouth!
