Baby News!

Last weekend, my sweet friend Ashley threw me a wonderful baby shower. We all had a great time. My dear friends and family were so generous - I am so lucky to have them!

Here are a few pictures from the shower - lots of girl clothes! So much fun!

Grandma and Grandpa Weilbacher were in town this weekend for my shower. While they were here, we took advantage of having the extra set of hands especially with the baby nursery. I have come to the conclusion it takes at least 3 people to do things around our house. Two people are busy hanging pictures and curtains and 1 person is watching Ryan to make sure he isn't getting into anything!

Who knew it took 3-generations of Weilbacher men to hang curtains. . . they look great though!

Bobby and I finally decided on a name for the baby. We thought it would be fun to make a game out of guessing her name so we set up a game of scrabble. Family had the "hard task" of piecing her name together.

Emma Kate Weilbacher will be here in just 8 short weeks!

Of course, Ryan had to get into the mix. Here he is coming up with his own name for sissy.

A big thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Weilbacher for their help in the nursery! I'll send pictures soon of the room - looks beautiful!

Dancin' Machine

Ryan and Mommy had a little dance party in the living room yesterday. Of course, Ryan being Ryan he quickly turned the dance party into a dangerous one by climbing on the table and then jumping onto Mommy.

Chores with Mommy and Daddy

Ryan loves helping Mommy and Daddy do chores around the house. We call them "chores" because nobody wants to do them. . . . except for Ryan!

1) Emptying the Trash

2) Doing the dishes

3) Yard work

4) Folding laundry

Sister's Bed

Ryan has already "broke in" his sister's bed. I think he gets extra credit for doing this all in the buff, don't you think?

Balloon Festival -- A BUST!

On Friday, we thought it would be fun to take Ryan to the Plano Balloon Festival. We went last year but got there too late to watch the balloons launch (7am launch time!). I had read on their website that they launch them in the evenings at 6pm so we thought it would be a great time to go then.

The fun declined quickly as soon as we parked the car - we realized we forgot the stroller. Sigh! So Bobby hoisted Ryan on his shoulders for the walk into the event. Well, the walk from the parking lot to the entrance to the park was about a mile long. All three of us were exhausted by the time we got to the event. Again, sigh! We had about 15 minutes to spare before the balloons launched so we bought some tickets for Ryan to gain access to the various jump houses. Those are always a hit with our BOY!

After about 10 minutes or so, we are told the balloon launch is cancelled due to bad weather. Yes, there were storm clouds but not a drop of rain. . . . yet! By that point, we decided to just cut our losses ($5.00 parking, $5 each to get in & $5 worth of tickets) and go back to the car. About halfway into our mile walk back to the car, it starts to rain. Again, big SIGH! Really? Really?

We finally get in the car and literally all of us sighed at once. We will try again next year - note to self: BRING STROLLER and check weather prior to going.

Check out the storm clouds coming in!

Walking back to our car. . . .

Ready for a toddler bed?

Could this be a sign that Ryan might be ready for us to convert his crib to a toddler bed? I love the part in the video where he realizes that he left his Be-Be ("sippy cup with milk") in his crib. Too funny!

Animated!

It took some time but we finally can get Ryan to smile on cue! All we have to say is "happy face" and we get this cute little grin from him.

But what's really humorous is when we say "sad face". He sure knows the difference between happy and sad.

Ryan's 1st Day of School

Ryan's first day of school was this week!

Status report: A+ He did extremely well when I dropped him off in the morning. We arrived a tad early because Mommy anticipated that Ryan might need some extra attention before all of his classmates arrived. Not one tear shed!

He did cry a little when it was nap time which doesn't surprise me one bit. He has only napped in his crib and isn't used to sleeping on a nap mat much less in a strange place. BUT, he did eventually fall asleep which is FANTASTIC!

Overall, his first day of school was a hit! We look forward to Ryan learning new things, making new friends and overall just having fun. . . . you can't beat that!

Busy, Productive & Fun - Labor Day Weekend

We love 3-day weekends in our house! Gives us a lot of time to hangout as a family but also gives us an extra day to be productive and get some items checked off our "To-Do" list.

One of the things that we can scratch off the list is painting the nursery. Bobby spent his Friday afternoon and evening breathing in paint fumes - Thanks honey, the room looks great!

Love this shot of Bobby with paint on the top of his head!

Ryan spent most of the weekend doing what he does well. . . which is playing. Mommy set up the picnic table in the living room and introduced Ryan to play-doh for the first time. What fun!

Played at the neighborhood park. . .

We've all enjoyed this beautiful weather including Oliver.

We made homemade yogurt popsicles. . .

Yummy!

We got a haircut just before his first day of school

We played at Planet Pizza, a very "classy" indoor playgrounds. Please note, the sarcasm when I say "classy". They were playing music by Little Wayne, Jay-Z and Pitbull through the sound speakers the entire time - you know that kid friendly music. ;) We were 1 of 8 kids there on a Saturday night - that might have been a sign. Ryan had a blast though - loves putting tokens in the different arcade games. He gravitated to games that involved cars and basketballs - surprised?!?

Love this video I got of the two of us riding this rickety roller coaster. It went forward for like 1-2 minutes and then we thought the ride was over. Oh no! Then, it started going backwards. Poor Ryan is slumped against my shoulder and poor baby (in my belly) was kicking up a storm. Lets just say no one was a fan of a backwards roller coaster.

Nanny & Pops House

What better way to kick off Labor Day weekend then to spend it at Nanny & Pops house! It takes us about 20 minutes to drive over there from our house and the whole way Ryan will say at least 10 times -- "Nene & Dots". He gets so excited to go over there especially when his cousin Brooklyn joins too!

Got a great video of Ryan playing his first game of hide 'n' go seek with Brooklyn. We couldn't stop laughing because Ryan always chose to hide behind Pops on the couch - a little predictable but Brooklyn was a good sport and played along with it.

Brooklyn and Ryan playing with bubbles!
