1-2-3. . Pull!

Miss Emma is becoming more alert everyday. We will put her on her play mat and she stays busy looking at all the different colors and objects while kicking her legs with excitement.

Mr Ryan loves to be a part of the fun, of course. The other night I placed Emma on her mat and Ryan was busy watching cartoons. I went out of the room for just a second, came back and noticed Emma was turned completely around on the mat and was now watching cartoons with Ryan.

Hmmm, any guesses on how a 1-month old moved herself? We've been wondering how Ryan moved her and now we have proof - check out the video.

Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas Everyone! We had a great Christmas in the Weilbacher household - we appreciate family coming to our house this year! It certainly made it less stressful for us!

On Christmas Eve, we went over to Tara and Brandon's for appetizers and our "first round" of opening gifts. Yes, we have to do it in several rounds to get through all the gifts! Unfortunately, I did not take one picture on Christmas Eve of my family but we have plenty of videos and pictures taken on Christmas Day!

Right before we went to bed on Christmas Eve, Daddy explained to Ryan that "Ho-Ho" (what Ryan calls Santa) would come by the house while we were sleeping and leave presents. Daddy had no idea this would completely freak Ryan out - he shouts, "No Ho-Ho" and starts to cry. Um, well, that backfired on us. We quickly assured him that Ho-Ho would not come and that was enough to calm him down. Phew!

Here is a video of Ryan on Christmas morning. Ryan clearly was not opposed to Santa coming by the house after he saw all his presents.

We had Nana, Dots, Kristen, Ken and Brooklyn over in the morning to open presents and have breakfast. Ryan loving his new Cars pillow!

You have to look closely at Ryan in this picture - he is using one of his favorite new gifts - a Spongebob electric toothbrush - genius gift Nana and Dots!

Ryan's Grandma and Grandpa got him a Big Wheel for Christmas. Ryan is just shy of an inch in reaching the pedals so he enjoyed getting a ride from Brooklyn instead.

Ryan in his new clothes from Grandma!

Ryan and Dots playing with Ryan's new remote control fire truck. By the way, the firetruck is possessed - it will go off at the strangest times when we aren't even in the same room - lovely!

Ryan loves his new latch board!

Cousin's Birthday

Ryan loves celebrating his cousin's birthdays. In December, his triplet cousins turned four and had their birthday at Paradise Pond at the First Baptist Church in Grapevine. It's an indoor play place suitable for 2 -6 year olds and includes 10 different stations where the kids can play - Lego's, trucks, rock climbing wall, bounce house, dress-up and basketball toss to name just a few. Of course, you can guess that Ryan spent most of his time playing with the trucks and basketballs but I love that he tried all of the stations.

Station: Dollhouse and various little people toys. Held Ryan's attention for about 5 minutes and we were off to the next station!

Station: Rock Climbing Wall. Ryan loved this! Thanks to Aunt Kristen he was able to reach the top with no problems.

Station: Basketball Toss. This one was a favorite of Ryan's even though he was a little too short to make the baskets unless an adult held him up. I think this is the only time that I was thankful that I am under strict Dr's orders to not carry anything over 15lbs because of my recent surgery!

Ryan even taken Nana into giving him a boost!

Ryan got smart after awhile and put on some protective head gear to avoid getting hit in the head with the ball. Too funny!

Station: Hospital. There were a lot of babies laying around and this kind of turned Ryan off. I don't blame him - I am sure he was thinking - heck, I have a baby at home why do I want to play with one here!

But, he did like playing with the toy shots and blood pressure equipment

Whee!

Station: Cars & Trucks. Ryan was in heaven especially when he met a new friend who shared the same interest!

Toddler Bed

Yes, people, it has taken me 2.5 years to convert Ryan's crib to a toddler bed. Yesterday, I watched him on the monitor crawl out of his crib, go into his dresser drawer, pull out his Spongebob underwear, proceed to take his diaper off, put his underwear on and finally crawl back into his crib. Seeing that on the monitor showed me that clearly Ryan is ready for a toddler bed but more importantly we might have a fully-potty trained kid soon too!

So today, Bobby converted his crib into a big boy bed. Please cross your fingers that all goes well tonight. If there is any problems, this Mommy will more than likely hear it when she's up with Emma at 11pm, 2am, 5am or the 8am feedings!!!

Goodnight Ryan!

Craziness with a capital "C"

The only word I can describe our current situation of having two kids under the age of three is down right CRAZY! But, this mom wouldn't have it any other way!

Our house has been officially taken over with toddler toys and baby "stuff". Here are some of my favorite examples of how nuts our house can be now that we have a toddler and newborn under the same roof!

Here is a hilarious video of Ryan being creative with my breast pump and his hot wheel cars. . . I was feeding Emma at the time and couldn't get up so I just grabbed the video camera and started rolling!

Another time I was feeding Emma (do you see a trend here?) and Ryan thought it would be a good idea to grab his outdoor soccer ball and goal and bring it into the bedroom. He practiced his kick while wearing his Daddy's baseball helmet - doesn't every kid do this?

My first attempt to get a cute picture of Emma and Ryan -- FAIL!

Found Ryan's dump truck in Emma's swing - nice placement Ryan!

Christmas Party at Ryan's School

My first outing out of the house since Emma was born was to Ryan's Christmas Party at his school. It's amazing how human one can feel after taking a shower and putting on make up!

The 2-year old class is a little too young to participate in the Christmas Program so they invite all the parents/grandparents to attend a sing-a-long/party in the classroom instead.

Bobby and I loved watching Ryan interact with his buddies - he definitely gravitates to the other boys and tends to ignore the girls. It's just a matter of time before that all changes!!

Here is my attempt to get Ryan to smile for the camera.

But, he sure can smile when his Daddy is around!

Ryan and his teacher, Ms Mia

Yummy cookies!

Here we are singing Christmas songs. Love that Ryan is a little "too cool" to participate but check out what he does with his feet. The boy still likes to keep the beat going!

Jingle Bells - he sure can shake the bell! Again, not too excited about it all but that's what I love about Ryan. Mr. Too Cool For School

Makes You Want to Say Aww!

Okay, we are making some progress over the last few days. Ryan isn't completely ignoring Emma anymore - he actually asked to hold her this morning. The sweet moment lasted seconds just up until Emma rolled off his lap. Oh well, it sure was cute to see them together.

Getting To Know Sissy!

Since we've been home, Ryan is taking his time adjusting to having a baby sister. Every morning when he wakes up or after he's been gone awhile, he'll ask "Where is sissy?" He will continue asking the question until he finds her.

For the most part, he acts like she isn't even in the same house which is to be expected. We did catch him this morning wanting to show off Emma's hats and bows. Too funny!

I also got a sweet moment this morning when Ryan wanted to show her his cars.

Emma Kate Weilbacher

My first blog entry since Emma Kate was born! What a whirlwind these past few days have been - we've been so blessed to have such a wonderful baby come into our lives. She has been very easy on all levels - nurses wonderfully, sleeps soundly, etc. We couldn't ask for more!

I can't thank everyone enough for their thoughts and prayers over the last 9 months and of course during my surgery. Bobby and I are extremely thankful for Grandma and Grandpa Weilbacher watching Ryan while we were in the hospital and getting our house ready for the holidays. What a great feeling to walk into your home after being gone for days and seeing the house cleaned, organized and decorated - blessed!

Here are a handful of pictures leading up to Emma's birthday, making her big debut and meeting family for the first time!

- Our last family picture - just the three of us!

Getting ready for surgery. At this point, I am trying to think good thoughts but the idea of having major surgery within the hour was making me very anxious.

I insisted on taking some pictures of the two of us before I really looked like hell. I made it a point to do my hair and make-up that morning. I have seen pictures of me after having Ryan and let's just say those pictures have not seen daylight - trust me, I looked bad!

Grandpas!

Not very happy when this picture was taken. The nurse was unable to get an IV put into my arm properly so she had to "stick" me multiple times in the hands and arms. It was very painful. Finally, another nurse came in and did it - took her the first try. Thank you Bobby for not capturing my face in this picture.

Well, hello, my angel! Emma Kate weighing in at 7lbs 3 ozs!

Waiting patiently to meet her!

Emma already sportin' some battle wounds. She had the longest and sharpest nails I have ever seen on a baby. Ouch!

Lets get out of here! Emma's car ride home!

Had her all bundled up - so cold outside. It was much different taking Ryan home 2.5 years ago in 100 + degree weather!
