Imitating Mommy and Daddy

Recently, Ryan has been all about imitating things that Mommy and Daddy do. Here are just a few that made us laugh. . .

1. Wearing his cool sunglasses on top of his head just like his Mommy.

2. Helping Daddy vacuum

3. Multitasking at its best here - who else can hold a football and talk on the phone at the same time???

Busted Lip

Ryan had a little run-in at the park today. Nope, the run-in didn't involve another kid. It was actually with a mean steel pole. Poor guy wasn't watching where he was walking and he ran right into it. No tears were shed but his lip started bleeding immediately. What a sight to see! Here are a few pics of his new wound. . . he's pretty proud of it.

Pukey Valentine's Day

We sure had a pukey Valentine's Day in our house -- literally! Over the last few days, all three of us (plus our Nanny!) have had a lovely stomach bug. Thankfully, it has lasted only 24 hours or less for each person but its unfortunate Bobby's turn to get it fell on Valentine's Day.

Here's the first shot of the day with Ryan in his new shirt from Grandma and Grandpa Weilbacher. He wasn't too photogenic but that's my fault for trying to take a picture at 7am in the morning during "cartoon time".

Ryan's Nanny bought him a Valentine's Day balloon. Very Sweet! This picture was taken a few seconds before she asked me to explain to her what "Eligible Bachelor" meant. Too funny!

Mommy and Daddy got Ryan his very own basketball hoop and a tub full of balls. He loves his new toy despite it being a little tall for him. Oh well, he's learned how to pull up a chair to get a better shot - so smart!

Even Oliver got a new rawhide bone!

Later that day, Ryan went to Gymboree to play with his friends.

Um, excuse me, I don't think that's the general purpose of the basketball hoop. Good form though!

Ryan's Valentine's Day definitely beat Daddy's this year! Feel better honey! xoxox

Super Bowl 2011

We had a small gathering of friends and family over to watch the Super Bowl game. What fun to watch the game while the kiddos ran around a played together.

Here is Ava showing off her new walker to Ryan. We later found Ryan crawling in it to test it out himself. Not surprised!

Ryan: Look Lauren if you crawl up on the ledge you get a much better view.

Lauren: No thanks I am fine right here.

Avery's Bounce Party

After being cooped up in the house for several days due to weather, we were ready to get out and do some things this past weekend. We had a great time celebrating Avery's (Ryan's cousin) 6th birthday at Bounce U in Richardson. The venue was set up with several bounce houses that included slides, basketball hoops, tunnels, boxing ring, etc.

Mommy was a bit protective at first because all of the kids were a lot bigger than Ryan. That quickly ended when Ryan showed all of the party goers that he could clearly hold his own!

Check out who is holding up the line!

Weee!

Ryan has a huge liking for balls. There was a bounce house that had built in basketball hoops with several balls. He spent most of his time playing in this one. . .

This was a cool contraption! And of course Ryan wanted to try it but Mommy was just too scared the older kids would accidentally fall on him.

Uncle Ken giving Ryan a boost so he can watch the kids climb around.

Finally, Mommy gave in and let Ryan crawl around in there.

Ice/Sleet. . and now SNOW!

We knew it was suppose to snow early this morning but none of us had any idea of how much snow we were going to get. We woke up to at least 6 inches of snow covering our yard, streets and cars. I think we can all agree the snow would have been so much more enjoyable if it didn't follow 3-days of sleet/ice!

Here are my two babies looking at the snow falling down.

We clearly aren't equipped for this type of weather -- check out Ryan's lack of snow gear.

What To Do?

What does a mother do when the streets are slathered in ice and you have a 19-month old boy who has MAJOR cabin fever?

Watch Seasame Street. . . .

Watch Dora The Explorer. . . .

Act silly with Mr. Potato Head parts. . .

Do lots of crafts. . . .

Sleep. . . .

Make yummy taco soup. . . .

Fill Oliver's crate with balls. . . .

Stack canned goods. . . .

And try and stay sane!
