HaLLoWeen 2011

A few posts ago, I mentioned Ryan was too young to really "get" Halloween. Um, I think I spoke too soon. He definitely knows now what Halloween is all about -- trick-or-treating, costumes and CANDY!

On Sunday, we went to a Trunk-or-Treat event at my sister's church. Ryan watched his cousin Brooklyn say Trick-or-treat just once and saw that she got candy immediately afterwards. That's all it took! Ryan was a pro by the 2nd stop! Plus, he didn't forget his manners and always said "Thank You" afterwards. Love it!

Brooklyn & Ryan

Amazing how fast they grow up from just 2 years ago. . .

Trick-or-Treat!

Pops ("Dots!") and Ryan

On Halloween, Ryan woke up with a gnarly cough. He took it easy most of the day but didn't take much of a nap that afternoon. This mom feared the worse - a very cranky pirate come 6pm when it was time to meet up with the neighborhood kids for some Trick-or-treating.

As always, Ryan rises to the occassion and we had a great time. We could have done without the scary masks that the other kids were wearing. Ryan was glued to Daddy's hip for the first 15 minutes and he kept saying "No Boo, Daddy". But, as soon as he and his buddy Ethan started to Trick-or-treat he quickly forgot the scary masks and had a great time!

Check out all the scary masks!

Can't get Ryan to smile while the scary masks were in the near vacinity.

Yeah! Time to Trick-or-treat! And yes, an hour and a half later Ryan finally was ready to go home. SUCCESS!
