Daddy, Papa & Me!

I'll try my best to keep this long story short. . . .In a nut shell, Ryan has been biting Daddy for a good year now. He doesn't do it out of spite or frustration (well, sometimes) but he'll mostly do it when he's excited and horsing around with Bobby. I think he just gets so amped up that he just chomps down on Bobby without really thinking about it. Of course, this can be very painful and I constantly hear Bobby say, "Ouch! Ryan don't bite Daddy".

So, I told Gracie (our Nanny) about this and she started casually talking to Ryan about it. She has these sit down conversations with Ryan during the day when we aren't around. She has told him that it's not nice to bite Daddy and that Chucky Cheese (Ryan's obsession!) doesn't bite his Daddy either. Genius!

To reinforce this, Gracie even checked out a book at the library talking about how great Dads can be. Have I mentioned how much we love this lady! But after reading through the first couple of pages, I noticed the book wasn't just about a singular Daddy but TWO! HA-Ha! It's about a kid who has gay parents - hilarious! Oh well, the thought was there and it's now one of Ryan's favorite books. My favorite was Gracie's reply after I explained to her what the book was about - she says, "oh, well that makes sense, I was wondering why the Papa looked the same age as the Daddy". Classic!

Never a dull moment, I tell ya . . .
