Bring On The Pumpkin Patches!

October is one of my favorite months!  One of our favorite things to do in the Fall is hit up all the cool Pumpkin Patches & Fall Festivals in our area.  Trust me - there are a lot to choose from!

Gracie and the kids were invited to a Pumpkin Patch in east Plano last week.  Several other Nannies met them up there which made it so much fun for the kids.  Here are 2 pictures of Gracie attempting to get me a cute picture of the kids sitting on the pumpkins.  And yes, these pictures were taken in October and yes it was hot enough for the kids to wear shorts and t-shirts.  Where is the Fall weather???

Ryan was so excited to run into his cousins (Payson, Madison & Hayden)  at the same pumpkin patch.  Cute kiddos!

Ryan posing with some kids from our neighborhood (his best friend Jackson is sitting on his right).

Peek-a-boo, Ryan and Jackson!

We were invite to a Fall Festival that Tommy and Ashley's church was holding for the community.  I had no idea how big this festival was going to be -- 8 bounce houses, pumpkin tossing, face painting, painting pumpkins and more!

Bounce Houses!

We stood in line to get Ryan's face painted.  We get to the front of the line and he looks at all the things he can get painted on his cheek.  Um, he chose a mustache.  Yes, random, I know.  And this is why I love this child of mine!

Check out my mustache!

We plan on going to the Celina Pumpkin Farm this weekend - so more pictures to come!

Imagination Movers, Rain, Rain & More Rain!

Last weekend, Bobby went hunting with some buddies in San Antonio.  I was a single parent for the weekend which normally I wouldn't mind a bit but this particular weekend came with rain, rain and more rain.  It literally rained all weekend long and slowly started to clear up on Sunday afternoon.  We made the best of the wet weekend . . .

On Friday, Ryan and I went to see Imagination Movers at the Verizon Grand Prairie Theatre.  We had no idea there are some die-hard lil' fans out there -- kids were dressed up in their mover gear, red sunglasses the whole get up!  Kids were dancing in their seats and in the aisle.  It was crazy!  Ryan enjoyed the show but felt most comfortable sitting in mom's lap.

Here is a video of us eating dinner beforehand - Ryan was forgetting where we were going even though we've been talking about it for months!

Mommy and Ryan "dining" at Chili's

Ryan waiting patiently for the show to start.  He kept asking me "Where are they"?

Ryan was concentrating very hard to keep up with the song - when he needed to clap his hands, stomp his feet, etc.

As mentioned, it rained ALL WEEKEND LONG.  So, we did a lot of playing at home. . .

We built forts!

And, we played dress up. .

A big thank you to Nanny for watching Emma on Friday night so Ryan and I could have our "date night".  She also came to the rescue when Mommy was getting some MAJOR cabin fever and needed a quiet dinner on Saturday with a girlfriend.  AND for feeding us some yummy brisket on Sunday night.
You're the best!

Latest Happenings. . .

Lots going on in The Weilbacher household over the last month.  Emma Kate has been crawlin' like crazy all over the house.  She still hasn't discovered the bottom stairs but it's just a matter of time.  She will crawl all throughout the house until she finds me. . .

Emma got extremely sick 2 weeks ago with a high fever (102.5) and cold-like symptoms.  And after a week of feeling crummy, she gets a bad ear infection.  Poor Baby just felt miserable -- she did find comfort in taking baths in the kitchen sink and getting lots of cuddles.  Of course, the antibiotic did wonders and she is feeling great now!

Ryan has developed a slight obsession with stuffed animals - some of his favorites are Deuce and Captain that he got at the Rough Riders and Rangers Baseball Games.  He likes to line them up on the couch so "everyone" can watch TV.  He also likes to put them in his luggage and roll them around the house.  Random, I know!

Ryan is on his 3rd week of school.  He absolutely loves it!  We couldn't ask for better teachers and classmates - he looks forward to going to school every day.  In the 3 year old class, they carve out about 30 minutes after lunch for kiddos to settle down and read books, play quietly, nap, etc.  Of course, Ryan doesn't nap but he sure does once he gets home.  He is out like a light most afternoons. . .

We've celebrated lots of birthdays over the Summer - one of Ryan's favorites was his buddy Aiden's party at the Frisco Science & Discovery Center

Ryan was the proud ring bearer in his Uncle Brent's (Bobby's youngest brother) wedding.  Here are a few pictures of the rehearsal and dinner afterwards.

Tara and I had a good laugh when we noticed we were dressed EXACTLY alike!

Here is our boy all dressed up in his tux.

Ryan was done with taking pictures. . . .

I don't have one picture of Brent and Brandi on their wedding day. Boo!  I will track down a few and post later!

Look Everyone! I am now 9.5 months old!

Look Everyone!  I am now 9.5 months old!
Here are my latest stats compared to my brother at this age. . .

Weight:  18lbs 9oz (52%)  -- Ryan was 21 lbs
Height:  28 inches (53%) -- Ryan was 29 inches
Head:  17 inches (25%) -- Ryan was 18 inches

She just cut her 2nd tooth as you can see in this picture.  She is eating more and more finger foods.  And, she loves to swing, go on walks now that the weather is cooler, throw balls, play with Mommy's cell phone, crawl after Oliver and loves to be near her big brother.

Emma's Baptism

Emma got baptised last week!  We were so blessed to have so many family members attend and share in such a special moment in Emma's life.  She did wonderfully and after the actual baptism she gave the congregation a big toothy grin and pumped her legs in excitement.  That's my girl!

Is Halloween Here Yet?

Since July, Ryan has been talking about what he wants to be for Halloween - no joke!  Last year, we walked into Party City about a week before Halloween and we picked out a pirate's costume.  Ryan wasn't thrilled about walking house to house and trick-or-treating, he mostly liked to play dress up with his costume. This year, we are dealing with something totally different.  As mentioned, we've been talking about costumes since July.  If we get a Halloween themed catalogue in the mail, Ryan will flip through it every night for a week.  A little nutty, don't you think?

Ryan has decided that he wants to be either Alex (from Madagascar) or Mario (Super Mario).  The Mario costume still confuses me because he has never played or seen Super Mario until his Nanny bought him a trinket from Target that was Mario in a race car and then the obsession began.  I am leaning towards Alex just so parents don't think I have a 3-year old that plays Super Mario Brothers video game all day!

Yes, it's not even October yet but we have the house decked out for Halloween.  Ryan wouldn't have it any other way and of course I have to say a big THANK YOU to Maw-Maw for being so creative with the decorations.

Dangerous

I think everyone knows how active our Ryan is.  There has been a fine line lately from "being active" to "being dangerous".  This is a prime example of Ryan being Ryan -- this can definitely be categorized as dangerous.  I look outside one evening and I find Ryan standing on the top of his slide.  I went outside and firmly told him to get down before he falls down and hurts himself.  Ryan's reply, "Mom, don't worry, I am a superhero".  Speechless.

I don't think it's a mystery why Ryan is the way he is.  This picture was taken of Bobby recently doing his thing on the lake - oh my!

Back To School

Ryan started his first day of preschool today.  He is enrolled in the Tues, Wed, Thurs 3-year old class at LifePoint Pre-School in Plano. He attended the Tues, Thurs, 2-year old class last year and he loved it!

He had some mixed emotions about starting school this year.  Of course like any normal kid, he wanted his Summer to last all year long.  He also knew that he would be going to a new class with a new teacher - which made him a little nervous.  On the flip side, he knows he will have the chance to meet some new friends which he is excited about.

I dropped him off this morning and he was a little nervous at first but quickly started to color with the other kids as I slipped out of the room.  He's been at school for 40 minutes and I am counting down till 2pm when I can pick him up again. . . . . love this big boy of mine!

Amazing how much he's changed over the past year.  On an unrelated note, I can't help noticing in this picture that I have such cute potted plants on my porch last year.  Who has time to do that now?!?  Hey at least I have my Fall wreath on the door!
