Chucky Cheese Balloon + Potty = SUCCESS!

Here is a little story about how we now have a "potty trained" little boy in our house - WOO hOO! On Monday, Gracie takes Ryan and Emma to Chucky Cheese to play. There were several birthday parties going on at the time and Ryan noticed there were huge Chucky Cheese balloons tied to the birthday tables. Of course, he wanted one too!

So, Gracie went up to Chucky Cheese himself to see how she could go about getting one. He explained to her that they were for the birthday kids but she could purchase one. Gracie not missing a beat walks back over to Ryan who had been patiently waiting at the table. She tells him that Chucky said the balloons are for little kids who pee pee and poo-poo in the potty. Hilarious!

Ryan proceeds to take off his pants in the middle of Chucky Cheese and says he wants to start using the potty. Well, Gracie explains to Ryan that it isn't a one time thing that he now has to always go in the potty - no more diapers!

Before Monday, we've tried the potty training off and on with little success. He would pee in the potty every now and then but nothing close to being consistent. We never ventured out of the house in underwear because he always had accidents.

After their trip to Chucky Cheese, they came home and Ryan wanted to immediately put on his underwear and ditch the diaper. No accidents on Monday afternoon and evening. On Tuesday it was school day and I was very reluctant on him going to school in underwear but his teachers were great and were ready to help tackle the potty training. No accidents at school that day and he also napped in his underwear - again, Woo-Hoo!

Had one little accident on Wednesday but we kept reminding him that he would get his Chucky Cheese balloon on Friday if he continued to use the potty. He sure wanted that balloon because the rest of this week we've had not one accident.

Finally Friday is upon us and Ryan would not let us forget it was the day to go see Chucky Cheese and get his well-deserved balloon. So, here are a few pictures from today. . . cheers to Chucky Cheese - I now have a potty trained boy!

YEAH!
