We are coming up on my sweet Ryan's 4th birthday in just over a month and this mama is definitely feeling the pain of how quickly these kids grow up. Here is just a few things Ryan has been doing over the last few months. . .
The 1st Saturday of every month, Home Depot has a workshop for kids. Bobby and Ryan swing by the donut shop and pick up several dozen donut holes in the morning and take them to the workshop to share with the other kids. They been doing this for over a year now and really enjoy spending the time together. Last week, Ryan was presented with a Thank You sign from all the Home Depot workers for being so sweet . . . .
Teacher Appreciation was last week at school. Ryan made cards for both of his teachers whom he adores - Ms. Beth and Ms. Becca! He knew it was a special day so he asked Daddy (I was traveling) to fix his hair that morning. He also picked out his clothes all by himself . . what a cutie!
They had "Field Day" at Ryan's school a few weeks ago. They encouraged parents to come by and help kids through the different courses. Because I have been on the road so much this year, it was such a joy to be able to come up to the school and be a part of his day.
Ryan had his very first trip to the Eye Doctor this month. He had lots of questions about the various equipment and what they all do. He did a great job during the exam and actually had to get his eyes dilated too.
I was told Ryan has a stigmatism in one of his eyes. The Dr is certain he will need to wear glasses in his future but at this point they are not necessary. Kind of broke my heart to hear this news because I've had such horrible eye sight throughout my life.
I never let him wear my nice sunglasses because I am always afraid he'll break them. But this day was different, I couldn't say no after he was complaining of the brightness after being dilated. . . poor guy!
Ryan's recent obsession has been Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Funny thing - he's never watched the cartoon (a little too violent!) or the movie. He's just seen commercials and fell in love with these fighting turtles. He's declared that he wants his birthday party to be Ninja Turtle themed and no girls are allowed. Hmm, I am working on the "no girls" rule -- hoping he'll change his mind!
These warmer days are awesome -- we spend evenings outside playing at the park, in the backyard or just chilling in the front yard - you would be surprised with all the things that Ryan thinks of doing in the front yard - we race up and down the sidewalk, trace lines in the dirt and to my dismay his Daddy taught him how much fun it is to climb trees!
We love this boy to pieces - can't believe he'll be turning 4 soon! Where is the pause button?
