In addition to the Children's Museum and Kiddie Park, Emma Kate and Ryan had a blast exploring an amusement park called Morgan's Wonderland. This amusement park was built specifically for children who
have special cognitive or physical needs. The park, which opened in April 2010, was developed by a Dad who was inspired by his autistic daughter, Morgan.
The park is open to the public and on this particular Saturday there was barely anyone there. So, we felt like we had the whole park to ourselves!
One of Ryan's favorite activities was the Waterworks section.
He played with these blocks to stop water from flowing down the ramp - endless fun for a 3 year old boy who loves water. . .
The park had so many playgrounds to play on that were all wheel chair accessible. There were a lot of things that are not on typical playgrounds - like this rolling slide. Emma Kate loved this one!
The wharf where the kids fished off the deck . .
and shot big water guns like this one . . .you had to aim it towards this structure in the water which would spin if you hit in just the right way.
Kids spent most of their time in the sand area. Emma was being a bit of a girly girl and didn't want to get too dirty. She quickly settled in and got sand EVERYWHERE!
