Ryan James Weilbacher

Have I mentioned lately how much Ryan has been talking?  Yes, it took us nearly 3 years to get him to start talking in sentences but now this chatty one won't stop - I love it!  He sings all the time around the house and we are constantly talking about our surroundings (colors, noises, counting, ABC's).  We also have been trying to teach him to say his whole name  -- not easy to teach a 3yr old to say "Weilbacher".

Take a look. . .

Happy Birthday to Us!

Happy Birthday to Us!  Bobby and I both celebrated birthdays this month.  Bobby turned 35 years old and I, of course, turned 21 . . . again!  Because turning 35 is somewhat of a milestone, we thought it would be fun to invite a bunch of friends and family to help celebrate.  As you can see we all had a great time at MiCocinas.

We had a small group celebrate my birthday at Coal Vines this weekend.  It was perfect despite me loosing my voice -- I guess I talked a lot that night!  We continued the celebration by having family over for dinner on Sunday -- the food and weather turned out great!

Daddy's New Ride!

Ryan sure loves Daddy's new ride! And Mommy likes it too - I am just trying to figure out how to permanently get two car seats in the back of it so it will officially become my new car! And Ryan just loves the fact that he can watch "TV" in the car.  What happen to the times when we were growing up and went on family road trips and had to read books or play "i spy" game to keep us entertained.  Times sure have changed!

Emma - Stop growing!

This sweet girl of mine is growing like a weed! She certainly does not act like a 4 1/2 month old baby - she is already reaching for toys that hang in front of her, she loves jumping in her jumperoo, she is very "talkative" and loves to laugh outloud. Overall, she is just one happy baby!

She loves playing with her brother too!

Funnies!

I have always said that Ryan gives me the best material to BLOG.. . truely!

I feel the need to write a caption for the picture below! Around the time we started potty training Ryan, his Daddy taught him how much fun it is to be a BOY because you can go the bathroom outside. It was cute at first watching him pee outside, on the plants, etc. Now, he can't distinguish what are appropriate places to pee versus not appropriate. For example, I have stopped him trying to pee in neighbor's yards, mall parking lot and trying pee on Oliver's back. . . just to name a few! Thank you Daddy for teaching him this cool trick! Sigh!

Ryan loves to drive Daddy's boat . . as it's sitting in the garage!

I got a video of Ryan sleeping in an odd place. He had woken up from his nap, walked out of his room and then after a few minutes I didn't hear anything upstairs. I thought he was quietly playing in the gameroom but I was mistaken. . .

Easter 2012 Weekend

We hope everyone had a great EASTER! We stayed busy that weekend with a trip to see the Easter Bunny, attended Sunday Church Service and hosted dinner for friends and family.

I really wanted the kids to get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny this year. I thought I was being so clever to get to the mall right at 12pm when the doors open so we would be first in line. Well, come to find out, every mother in the Plano/Frisco area had a similar plan. We ended up being maybe the 15th family in line that morning - took about 45 minutes to get to the front. By that time, Emma was fast asleep in the stroller. You can see she wasn't waking up for all of the excitement - next year! But kudos to Ryan for being a big boy and giving us a smile for the camera!

Ryan and Emma woke up Easter morning to see their baskets filled with goodies!

For our 5th wedding anniversary (March 31st), I got Bobby a smoker. We bought it on Saturday. He put it together Saturday night and was grilling as soon as we got home from church on Sunday (10am). Can you tell he was excited to try it out?

Unfortunately, it was a rainy day on Easter which wasn't much fun for Bobby to grill in. But he made do and even set Ryan up with his own grill in the garage. Both of my boys sure can grill!

Result: 2 smoked chickens, sausage and 3 racks of ribs - YUM!

After dinner, we had a make shift Easter egg hunt in the living room for all the kids (it was still raining outside). Wow - I had no idea that Ryan would be so good at hunting eggs. Brooklyn was great and allowed Ryan and Lauren to do most of the hunting.

Ryan found out some of the eggs have chocolate in them. Clearly, we don't give this kid enough candy because he started shoving handfuls of M&M's in his mouth midway through the Easter egg hunt

Surprise! Some eggs had $$ in them. Notice the chocolate still coming down his chin

One Happy Baby!

Stuff!

Birthday parties continue to keep us busy on the weekends. Ryan loves to celebrate especially now that he knows the Birthday song and loves to help blow out the candles!

>We went to Lola's 3rd birthday party this past weekend. The party was "Pinkalicious" themed - um, yea, had no idea who Pinkalicious is. I definitely need to brush up on my little girl trivia before Emma reaches that age. But, I can tell you all the characters from the movie CARS and TOY STORY, does that count for anything?

Here are a few pictures from Lola's party. . . notice Ryan is only 1 of 3 boys.

I've been traveling quite a bit lately. Over the last 3 weeks, I have visited the following states: Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Virginia, Washington and North Carolina. I am one tired mama but I just love getting videos and pictures of the kids while I'm away. This video is one of my favorites!

Gracie sent me these two pictures of the kids while I was gone this week (4 days the longest I've been away from Emma!)

Emma's 4 month check-up

Our sweet Emma turned 4 months old this week! We had a great check-up with her Pediatrician this morning. Here are her stats:

Weight: 13lbs 3oz -- 45%

Height: 23.5in. -- 30%

Head: 15.8 -- 40%

She's developing beautifully! She was all smiles at the Dr's office and even gave a few laughs for the Dr to make sure he knew just how cute she is.

Interesting to compare her to Ryan's 4 month old stats - not way off, surprisingly.

Weight: 14.9lbs

Height: 25 in

Head: 16.5

Traveling Mommy

It was inevitable that I would start traveling again with work. I wasn't anticipating it happening so fast after I came back from Maternity Leave but oh well I can think of worse things! After much thought and honestly a few tears, I decided to stop breastfeeding Emma prior to traveling. I had no desire to pump in airport bathrooms, airplanes, rental cars and in hotel rooms. I forgot how painful the process of weaning can be and it took nearly 2 weeks to do completely.

My first trip was last week and I am on the road 1-2 nights a week over the next 5 weeks. Bobby has been great so far playing Mr Mom. He juggles the kids dinner, bathes and bedtime routines effortlessly so I never have to worry. Plus, Gracie "Our Nanny from Heaven" is wonderful too and she never seems to miss a beat.

Gracie and Bobby know it's difficult for me to be away from the kids. I love how they both send me pictures just to keep me going -- aren't they the best!?!

Bobby sent me this picture on my first night away. The subject line says "WE DID IT!". Both kids were a sleep and Bobby was feeling very proud of himself!

This picture cracks me up -- I guess Emma needed to be held while Bobby was giving Ryan a bath. You gotta do what you gotta do!

Gracie sent me this picture of Emma. . .LOVE!

Spring Break! More Birthday Parties!

As the month of March is coming to an end, it's nice to look back at all the things we've done in just one month. We stayed in Dallas for Spring Break - Bobby and I both chose to work and save vacation days for this Summer. But, we had activities planned the entire week for Ryan and Emma to do -- Sand Park, Jump Street, Jump Mania, Library Storytime and more! The kids had so much fun that week -- they both crashed at night from all the fun. .

Here are few pictures taken at various parks --

The month of March also brought us a few birthday parties. We had fun celebrating Lauren's (cousin!) 2nd birthday at The Little Gym in Plano.

Nanny, Aunt Kristen, Brooklyn, Emma and Mommy. Emma needs to keep working on smiling for the camera

Mommy and Ryan also celebrated Sasha and Tessa's 3rd Birthday at Pump It Up in Frisco. Ryan sure loves these types of places where all he does is jump and run around. Pure heaven!

Emma Laughing

We were lucky enough to catch on video Emma laughing for the first time. We were all hanging out in the bathroom giving the kids their bath and Emma got tickled about something I was doing. But, the funny part is when Ryan started laughing too! There is never a dull moment in the Weilbacher house.

ps. Please look past Mommy's wine glass in the video - it was a Friday night - don't judge! :-/

Jack, Emma's boyfriend

This past weekend, our dear friends Kristen and Lee came over with their baby boy, Jack. I've known Kristen since college and we were so excited to be pregnant together. Jack and Emma are about 2 months a part -- we can't wait for them to grow up together!

Ryan, surprisingly, was very interested in Jack!

Their Own Way of Communicating!

Daddy and Emma have their own way of communicating these days. I finally was able to get it on video -- Emma clearly has so much to tell her Daddy! Love it!

Sesame Street LIVE!

On Saturday, Ryan and Mommy went to see Sesame Street Live at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie. We had such a great time! When I purchased the tickets about a month ago, I vaguely remember buying tickets that were close to the stage. Now granted it was at the Verizon Theatre where there isn't a bad seat in the house. Our seats, to my surprise, were literally 3 rows back from the stage. Ryan chose to sit on my lap the whole time which I expected and loved every second. Here are a few pictures and videos of our fun time!

Mommy was smart and brought in our own drinks and popcorn - Ryan munched on popcorn almost the whole 2 hours!

At intermission, we took pictures with all the character cut-outs - I love this one with Oscar The Grouch - Ryan's face kind of looks like Oscars!
